Each jar symbolizes how they Shine His Light into the world
Five children stand together, smiling and proud, each holding a glowing lantern jar they created during the Fifth Pillar: Shine His Light activity. The soft light from their lanterns reflects the joy and innocence on their faces, symbolizing how God’s light shines through every child. The jars shimmer with gentle color — pinks and yellows — representing warmth, hope, and the brightness of Jesus’ love.
The group stands closely, united in purpose, embodying the heart of Chosen Footsteps: that every child is chosen to shine His light into the world. The image captures a moment of pure faith and creativity — a visual reminder that even small hands can carry great light.
On July 16th, Chosen Footsteps & Shining His Light hosted its first Storytime Reading Event for five foster children — a joyful, immersive experience designed to help children feel chosen, loved, brave, prayerful, and called to shine His light.
Throughout the afternoon, the children explored hands‑on activities that brought the Five Pillars to life:

Chosen to Follow His Footsteps: Exploring a world map and globe to see how God brought Jesus to the world.

Chosen to Be Brave: Using a dry‑erase board to express moments of courage.

Chosen to Love Like Jesus: Decorating wooden crosses and filling blessing cards for soldiers.

Chosen to Pray Like Jesus: Writing personal prayers and adding their names to red hearts as a declaration of faith.

Chosen to Shine His Light: Creating lantern jars with glow sticks and tea lights.
At the end of the event, each child received a Bible & a Declaration Certificate for choosing to Follow His Footsteps paid for by Shining His Light 501(c)(3) — a gift that continues the story beyond the day itself.
